Remember, people are looking for a reason to not buy your book, so having a good back cover description is key to keeping them on the purchasing track. If you get it wrong, very little else can really save you. If you get it right, the sale is almost automatic. Often the description is the factor that solidifies in the reader’s mind whether the book is for them or not. Castle Crenshaw, nicknamed "Ghost" because of his talent for running away, is drawn into the local track team. Ghost is the first book in a series of sports-themed novels by an excellent middle-grade author. Wonderful writing makes this a book not just for baseball fans. His adopted father moves a lot, and when they move to a new town with a demoralized baseball team embroiled in scandal, Jeremiah becomes the motivating coach they need to lift them up. You never know which dream will come true the next day. Halfway around the world, I found myself in the mothership of Thor Heyerdahl’s life work. One year later in Oslo, I stood in front of a small building that said ‘The Kon-Tiki Museum’. After reading Aku-Aku and Easter Island: the Mystery Solved, I moved on to The Kon-Tiki Expedition to understand the beginning of his expedition history. His pure curiosity, determination, and gentle nature to the native people should be the inspiration of modern day exploration. Looks like it might be as good as "The Wire", or even better.
